Shipping Types
Flat Rate aka USPS Priority Express 1 to 2 day air mail that is fully insured for live delivery
UPS Ground, economical for Iowa or near Iowa residents, no insurance, choose at your own risk.
UPS Next Day Air, best when you need your queens shipped in 24hrs or less of them coming out of a hive.
Store pick-up, free of charge, but only useful to you if you live near us lol.

SHIPPING FEES - We currently only offer shipping on our Queen Bee orders. Nucs, package bees, and beekeeping equipment must be picked up at our location. Shipping fees are estimted through UPS/USPS and based off our typical order dimensions. If you have a larger order requiring additional shipping, we will upgrade your order and pay the additional costs.

INSURANCE ON LIVE DELIVERY OF QUEENS - USPS insures live delivery of bees under their Live Animal shipments for Next Day Air. UPS does and does not insure live delivery of animals (includng bees) for ground shipments. If the package shows signs of damage (wet, crushed, etc), or was gravely miss-handled (left in a plastic bag hanging from a fence post on a hot sunny day), UPS will typically pay your claim on ground shipping as well. To file a claim you will need to go to the UPS web site and click on "file a claim". You will want a jpg photo of what you want to explain to them and a copy of the email showing how much you paid for the queens and shipping. If nothing is wrong with your package and you paid for "next day air" shipping, we will replace any dead queen you receive minus the new shipping costs. For instance, a person orders 20 queens "next day air" and recieves 19 good queens and one dead queen. Once that person decides on the type of shipping they would like and pays for the new shipping, we will send them the replacement queen on the very next cycle of queens. If you ordered your bees with the Flat Rate shipping you will get them sent to you "USPS Priority Express". These queens are insured by the United States Postal Service. Regardless of you ordering a single queen or a large number of queens, we pay the additional insurance fees and any shipping charges for large orders. USPS Priority Express shipping is a 1 to 2 days service (insead of "next day"), but still utilizes air travel for any long distances. As a consumer the big difference you will notice between USPS Priority Express and UPS Next Day is $30 vs up to $90 on a small orders. UPS is more practical for large orders where the extra cost to make sure your queens arrive in 24hrs from time of packing becomes worth it.  

Nuc and Package Guarantees - Most every package and nuc producer has the same standards. We Guarantee a live product along with a live mated queen. If you go to install your package and the queen in the cage is dead, come back immediately with the dead queen and we can get you a replacement one. If your queen is ok, go ahead and direct release her with the package. We only sell packages that the queens have been with the bees long enough for acceptance. Placing candy or a marshmallow for a delayed release can place your package at risk if a cold snap happens that causes the bee cluster to make a choice between keeping her warm or staying on feed. If you notice your queen is only producing drone brood during the first 3 weeks, call us and we will make things right with you. Again, our guarantee is that we provide you with live bees with a live "mated" queen. For nucs and packages that supersede their queen, this can happen either because the bees considered her faulty because of a lack of brood pheromone when first trying to build comb from your package, or due to her being damaged or rolled in subsequent hive inspections. It can happen to anyone, but when a queen gets hurt it is the natural tendency of a colony to replace her. We can't take responsibility for a queen being damaged during install or subsequent inspections by a beekeeper. Essentially, we guarantee live good bees with a live good queen. We don't guarantee the possible mistakes a person could do in caring for their bees. 

CONVENIENT WAYS TO PAY - Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, bank transfer, and cash at time of pick-up. Our billing is linked through paypal, so any transaction that normally can be done through them will work in our online store. Even if you don't use paypal, you can still check out through them as a guest. When you come to the screen to sign into your paypal account, simply click the link below the user name/password spot that says to check out with a debit/credit card.

PICK UP ORDERS – A call before you come by helps us serve you in the fastest manner and in most cases we can have the order ready for you to pickup.

STATE SALES TAX – When applicable, we are required to collect sales tax by law.

Returns/Refunds/Cancellations/Exchanges For package bees, Russian queens, Russian nucs, and any other type of item that is pre-ordered we DO NOT allow Cancellations or Refunds unless.... mother nature affects the dates we've made agreements on for producing your items, or there is ample time prior to the production of your livestock (explained in further detail as you read). If the fault lies with Foley's Russian Bees meeting their promised deadline, we do offer 100% refund of your purchase and will work with you to make things right. Cancellations can't be made with less than a 15 day notice of the expected delivery date, or in the case of "Package Bees" and "Nucs" after final sales have been tallied and funds wired to the producer. The main reason for our return policy is to prevent complications and possible death of livestock. While you may not think it tough to find an alternative buyer or use for the canceled order of some queens or packages, multiply that by a number of people and place that in the middle of a busy season, the complications of already having advertised products are sold out or orders have stopped; and it can make for some tragically wasted bees. Please be responsible for these precious girls. If you encounter a situation in your life where you can't receive the queen/package/nuc and you are past the stated deadlines, no refund will be issued and we advise that you possibly find another owner by contacting fellow beekeepers or beekeeping clubs in your area. Another great option is to donate it to a local bee club or beginning beekeeper. Short notice of a cancellation just doesn't give us the opportunity to deal with the situation appropriately. We accept all returns/exchanges on equipment that you are unhappy with so long as it is in it's original condition, and done within 30 days of you receiving it. In some circumstances we may accept a return/exchange if you have modified the item (example: an assembled hive box you purchased as an unassembled hive box). This is done on a case by case situation, but is not the norm. Typically if you have modified or broken the merchandise it is yours indefinitely.
